Boasting a mix of recycled plastic and leather uppers, these V-12 B-Mesh Shoes from Veja are sustainably and ethically made in Brazil, after being designed by the team in Paris. The design presents the brand’s signature aesthetic with contrasting ‘V’ rubber branding on the outer sections - this edition sees them dyed in rich indigo - and a coloured heel tab in orange fluoro with printed ‘Veja’ text overlayed on top in white. Small ‘V-12’ lettering has been printed on the outer right sections which sits above the light grey, wild rubber sole. A recycled polyester jersey lines this model and the insole is made from wild rubber and other synthetic materials.
Designed for wear all year round, the fabrics selected for this style results in a breathable and waterproof finish which not only makes them practical and stylish, it also highlights the fact that three plastic bottles are used to create each pair of V-12 B-Mesh Shoes, which in return reduces the use of virgin materials and waste. Founded in 2005, Veja have meticulously sourced the most sustainable and ethical way of producing their footwear styles after being inspired to launch their own initiative after being shocked by poor conditions in a Chinese factory.
